Director of Product Evangelism
Active Endpoints is seeking a director of product evangelism to join our growing software company. The director of product evangelism will be a central contributor in an expanded effort by the company to help raise the level of awareness, consideration and trial of ActiveVOS -- the most complete, affordable and open business process management system (BPMS) available. With ActiveVOS, project teams and individual developers working in a web services environment can automate processes using both automated and human tasks to create a new generation of applications.
The director of product marketing is responsible for:
- Creation and distribution of technical content that highlights ActiveVOS, including:
- Primary responsibility for creation of product demonstrations
- Preparation of product launch materials, including web site modifications, “what’s new” documents, reviewer’s guides and feature updates
- Writing and editing of white papers
- Writing and editing technical content for the website and blog
- Being the chief technology evangelist for ActiveVOS:
- Monitoring the Internet for articles, blog posts and social network sites to which to respond
- Developing and delivering webinars and call-in conferences
- Presenting and delivering product demonstrations tailored to journalists and analysts
- Assisting sales as required in customer accounts
The successful candidate will have all of these qualifications, plus liberal amounts of passion for our technology:
- At least five years of previous experience as a systems engineer or product marketing manager in a software company that provides application development products
- Deep understanding of modern application development, especially with concepts like services-oriented architecture (SOA) and business process management (BPM)
- Prior experience as a developer in a corporate environment is especially valuable
- Deep technical skills across a wide range of technologies, including Java, XML, BPMN and BPEL
- Excellent writing skills
- Superior demonstration capabilities
- Proven creativity in designing, developing, implementing, and evangelizing product demonstrations for highly technical application development systems
- Superior capabilities with a wide range of technical marketing tools, including experience with the WordPress blogging system and managing web sites written in php
- Fluency in common technology like desktop tools, ftp and ssh
- An undergraduate degree in a technical discipline or sufficient corporate marketing experience in an application development software company
Active Endpoints is a well-funded, growing BPMS vendor based in Waltham, MA. Our unique telesales model means that this job will not have significant travel requirements, though the occasional meeting or trade show might require travel.
